The Norwegian Association of Curators was founded on 11 March 2011. It is a national, independent organisation located in Oslo. The Association works to enhance the understanding of curatorial practice in Norway and Sápmi to promote the legal and economic conditions of its members vis-à-vis public policymakers and cultural institutions. To this end, the Association will initiate professional forums for discussions around contemporary curatorial practices, document the history of the profession, and contribute to discourses relevant to the field. The Norwegian Association of Curators collaborates with other arts organisations, institutions and groups in Norway and internationally.
The Board of the Norwegian Association of Curators consists of five members and three deputy members. The quorum for Board meetings is met when the Chair and two other members are present. The Board will meet at least five times a year.
Membership applications will be assessed at each Board meeting.
