Adam Kleinman

 BIOGRAPHY

Adam Kleinman is the Executive Director and Chief Curator of Kunsthall Trondheim. Previously, he was Lead Curator for North America at KADIST, Editor-in-Chief and Curator at Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art (now Kunstinstituut Melly), Agent for Public Programming at dOCUMENTA (13), and Curator at Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. Kleinman has curated numerous exhibitions and programs as well as authored catalog essays for artists such as Rossella Biscotti (WIELS/Roma), John Latham (Serpentine Galleries/Koenig Books), Silvestre Pestana (Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art), Pedro Reyes (Harvard University Press), Hito Steyerl (Castello di Rivoli/Skira), and many others. His writing has been cited by diverse areas of the humanities and interdisciplinary sciences. Kleinman has been a frequent contributor to Artforum and other publications.

Kleinman has been a Helena Rubinstein Fellow at the Whitney Museum of American Art, a Lehman Visiting Artist at The Cooper Union, and a Curator-in-Residence at the Banff Centre. Recent curatorial projects include Monophobic Response, a large-scale commission by American Artist for PST ART: Art & Science Collide presented at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) with support from the Getty and Hyundai Motor, and Kinship, Emilie Louise Gossiaux's first European solo show held at Kunsthall Trondheim, which was named as one of the four best exhibitions of the year (2024) by the Norwegian national newspaper Klassekampen.
