Frida Rusnak

 BIOGRAPHY

Frida Rusnak is a curator and art mediator based in Oslo, Norway. Since 2021, she is the Director of Oslo Open, an annual open studio weekend with around 400 participating artists.

In 2022 Rusnak was the art mediator for the SOLO OSLO exhibition with artist Apichaya Wanthiang at MUNCH, and developed measures to make the exhibition more accessible to the blind and visually impaired in collaboration with The Norwegian Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted Youth (NBfU). Recent projects include In the Eyes of the Child (2021), an exhibition co-curated by a local youth board, and Oslo Art and Knowledge Workshop (2020-2021), both at Kunsthall Oslo.

Rusnak holds an MA in Art History – Curating, Critique and the Cultural Heritage of Modernism, from the University of Oslo (2021), and developed her thesis on collaborative art and collective curating with Kunsthall Oslo. Rusnak also holds an MA in Cultural Management from the University of Catalunya, Barcelona (2013). Rusnak’s curatorial practice is rooted in her experience in communication, audience engagement and outreach in the visual arts field, and a commitment to creating more open and inclusive spaces for contemporary art.
