Kristina Melbø Valvik

 BIOGRAPHY

Kristina Melbø Valvik is a curator, producer, and dramaturg based in Bergen, Norway. She is currently on leave from her role as curating producer at Bergen Internasjonale Teater (BIT) to work freelance with dancer and choreographer Harald Beharie.

As part of BIT’s Programming Team, she curates and produces performances, theater, and dance for the seasonal program and the festivals Meteor and Oktoberdans. From 2016 to 2020, she led Prøverommet, a platform with an ongoing open call that has been running under BIT since 1999. The program appears at various venues, shaping her curatorial practice with a special focus on experimental and site-specific art.

Kristina holds an MA in Theater History from the University of Bergen and an MA in Curatorial Practice from KMD University, Bergen. She has participated in residencies at The International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP- OCA) in New York, Nordic Artists' Centre Dale (NKD) in Fjaler, and Onassis AiR in Athens.
