Gebrelul hold a master’s degree in gender studies from University of Oslo and have participated in KORO’s “Curatorial Practice – Art in Public Space '' in Autumn 2023. Beyond their curatorial practice, Gebrelul is part of collaborative, activist spaces such as Comrades Inc; a mutual aid fund organization with aims of offering safe platforms and building communities for queer – and trans people. Their work in Comrades Inc vary from educational workshops in queer sexual healthcare, abolition workshops, community kitchen as well as fundraising events.
