Lecture Series #6 —Candice Hopkins, Sounding the Margins: A Choir of Minor Voices

May 2016 – The Norwegian Association of Curators was has been given funding by the Arts Council Norway to explore the role of the curator through a series of talks/lectures. The series aims to explore different typologies of curatorial practice and to link the visit to relevant art events in place the talk takes place in Norway. The lecture series has been compiled by Milena Hoegsberg, Natalie Hope O’Donnell and Leif Magne Tangen. Candice Hopkins’ talk will include her ongoing reflections on protest, Indigenous artists and sound-based practices.

March 2014 – The Norwegian Association of Curators was has been given funding by the Arts Council Norway to explore the role of the curator through a series of talks/lectures. The series aims to explore different typologies of curatorial practice and to link the visit to relevant art events in place the talk takes place in Norway. The lecture series has been compiled by Milena Hoegsberg, Natalie Hope O’Donnell and Leif Magne Tangen. Gabi Ngcobo will talk about her curatorial practice and her foundation of the Center for Historical Reenactments in Johannesburg. Ngcobo’s visit has been programmed to coincide with Lars Cuzner and Fadlabi’s “Congo Village” project in Frognerparken.
